You can learn more about Skye Joubert below:
Skye Joubert is a real life mixed media artist who lives in Ojai, California at her main studio aldea del ciELo. She hosts workshops at her studio and has art hanging in establishments around town.
Skye also has pieces hanging in Miracle Mile Medical Center in Hollywood, CA as well as Hadavi Spa in Long Beach, CA. Dedicated followers of her work like Writer and Musician Robert Gregory Browne and Doctor Gil Tepper and others enjoy collecting her whimsical characters.
She is also a member of The SketchBook Project where her TeaBag Art Sketchbook is stored at the Brooklyn Art Museum. Her second SketchBook will go live there soon!
She also was a proud participant in the 14th annual Artwalk on Raglan Shire, Second Life (2019) which featured 200 second life artists. The following video shows a sample of the Artwalk and Skye’s artwork got a lot of time! Catch it at 24- 27 seconds into the video.
Her childlike folk art boldly explores her love of colors. Having been raised in an artistic home with three life-like artists it took her a while to re-visit her artistic style. “I can sketch life-like art, I just have no fun doing it! I love the spontaneity of splashing colors on an old piece of wood or cardboard, mapping a face with pencil and then – boom letting the character develop itself. It is like childplay! I live to have paint on my hands”.
She proudly recycles pieces of wood and cardboard in her individual effort to make less trash, or rather turn her trash into art. She has painted mermaids on fabric chairs and painted faces on guitars (in both worlds) as well as TV trays and Tables. Items that had once seen a better day spring to life again with her bold colors and characters.
In Second Life she lives with her Second Life Family and boyfriend on (beYou Affiliate) Joubert’s BeFarm Grocery at Joubertville, True Love (73, 199, 21) which is home to a working beYou Farm, beYou Grocery Store, and coming soon a beYou craft center located in her SL studio where she holds RL Art Sessions. “It is so great that today we can expand our knowledge and learning because of the Internet. There are tons of YouTube videos out there for FREE – I even have produced some!
Come visit RustyTruck Art Gallery and ciELo ArtPlay and explore what Skye’s art and beYou are all about. If you are interested in her real life art or workshops held in Ojai, CA email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Seasonal Perceptions: Theme for Burn2’s Winter Burn Event
Perception — the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses.
This is particularly important as we move through the seasons… especially the holidays. However, our perceptions are affected by our environment… the things and people around us. Even the weather! At this time of year, one person might be shoveling the snow off his driveway while another might spend the day surfing the waves off the coast of Australia!
But it is also influenced by our imaginations. Michael Whelan, a world-renowned artist, once did a painting of his young daughter who loved playing in the sandbox. What he did differently is depict his daughter wearing a spacesuit and playing in a lunar sandbox!
Our perceptions ares a driving force in how we interact with the world around us. But imagination is also a strong influencer. Given all that, how would you perceive the seasons? Would you reflect the environment around you… or imagine something completely off the wall and different? Show us your “Seasonal Perceptions!”
Lamplighters will help to open the event with a walk-on from the Welcome Area to the main stage.
Artists and builders are invited to sign up for a plot (limited number, first come first served). We also have a collaborative build area set aside for Burners who would like to join a team with other creatives to build to theme. Signup is available at https://burn2.org/seasonalperceptions-buildsignup. On this form, one can indicate interest in the collaborative team or a single plot. There is also an opt-in available to be part of the Ten Principles Hunt if signing up for a single plot.
As for performers – live singers, group acts and DJs – watch for the self-signup to play at Burn2 in the next few days. If you know you are interested, you can contact Cuga Rajal inworld, until the signup sheet is available.
The Weather Machine will have its place at the center of the playa, an interactive build gleefully doomed to burn!
Mark Your Calendar and SHARE the News!
We look forward to welcoming Home Burners and community, to explore the builds and enjoy the music that will fill the air over the playa. The BURN2 Calendar at http://www.burn2.org/calendar will fill up quickly as performers sign up.
Bloggers and sharers of BURN2 news! Please share this update as much as you can!

Changes to Kultivate 2018:
Dear Kultivate Family,
I want to first thank everyone for being patient during my and Eleseren’s absence the past couple of months. We hope that this message clarifies what is going on and explains our absence. First real life has caught up with us both. Eles recently inherited a home in the north of Scotland from a relative and has been going back and forth from Germany to the UK, to sort this out. Secondly, as I am in the military, training schedules and other military work related matters have thrown my schedule into a fix. Combine this with Eles traveling and two kids, I have not had time in SL, as I would have liked.
We have both decided to restructure again, in order to balance our real life with SL. We could simply close up everything and go, but we both feel that SL has a special meaning to both of us. It is where we met, it is where we have met some of our closest friends, it is also our love of the arts in both worlds, that makes us want to push on. We hope that these changes are the last time we have to change anything and that we keep pushing forward.
We do want to personally thank Vee (Veruca Tammas) for her patience, guidance, and advice as we have thought hard about these changes. Without her, we could not do what we do each and every day for Kultivate.
Please note that the changes below do not address the fashion aspect of Kultivate. Eles will address those in a couple of weeks.
Thank you for reading and understanding.
Changes to Kultivate 2018:
New Partnership with The Keys Entertainment Group: -The Keys Entertainment Group will relocate to our sim. They will take up a quarter of the sim. -This partnership will allow us to bring new people to the sim and to also promote the music component of the arts. With this partnership, sim ownership does not change, everything is still ran by Kultivate, except the quarter parcel that the Keys will manage and run.
-You can find out more about The Keys at this link: https://thekeyslivemusic.wordpress.com/
-Gallery Changes: -As The Keys needs a quarter sim, we are redoing the galleries somewhat. The following changes will take place:
-Other Sim Changes: -As we hold fundraisers and big shows on the sim, we still will have half a sim free, so the adjusting of the galleries is to ensure that we can still support our main charity of Team Diabetes and have our week long gallery events
-Gallery Season: -Due to an increasing real life, we will run the galleries each year from August 1 to middle of June each year. As I have kids in real life, I spend a lot of time with them in the summer and holidays throughout the year. Real Life will always come first for me.
-With the changes in The Edge Gallery & The Kandis Gallery, the opening events for these galleries will always be held on the same date
-All gallery openings will be held on Sundays, with openings every other month, this will adjust when we have special events.
-The gallery form will go out again soon for a call for Artists for Rock Your Rack’s charity art show and for our upcoming gallery season
-Magazine & Website Updates:
-The magazine will continue publication in August
-Based on the summer changes, the SL anniversary issue each year will be our summer issue, with a hiatus from June to August, due to my rl
-The website also will be updated during this time, we hope to have a system in place soon where you can promote your own galleries and events
Join us on Sunday, May 6, 2018, from 1pm to 2pm slt for the May & June Exhibition opening event at Windlight Art Gallery! This event will feature live performer Dimivan Ludwig and the following artists:
The dresscode for the event is dressy casual, we hope to see you there! slurl: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Water%20Haven/65/132/26
