Welcome to the continuing series of fantastic restaurants in world. Restaurants in world are a wonderful place to sit and to visit with friend, go on a date or go on your own to explore a new place. This week’s restaurant is comfortable for all combinations.

Sweet Jasmine Sushi Restaurant is located in Virtual Shoo among blocks of art galleries and a couple of clubs. This location is also an easy walk to the historic Chelsea Hotel [2]. Make sure you stop in and see room 505, a room open to the public and the room of in world builder, co-owner of virtual soho and the designer of this sushi, Plato Novo, resident.
Strolling to the restaurant, your first view will be of the outside seating area of oversized pieces of sushi as the chairs and a California roll sushi as the table. Near the table is a freebie shirt Gift basket of Japan. Inside seating is at either one of the six booths or at the conveyor belt. Diners are given chopsticks to eat and matchbook as a souvenirs.
The conveyor belt sushi idea came from an over worked Japanese man who had trouble keeping enough workers at his sushi shop. Yoshiaki Shiraishi [1914-2001] saw beer on conveyor belts at the Asahi brewery and got the idea for using one for sushi. It took five years until he opened the first conveyor belt sushi at Mawaru Genroku Sushi in Higashiosaka 1958[3]. He also invented a robot serving system but that was not successful.

Conveyor belt service began with people facing the conveyor belt, moving to a right angle design which served even more people. Though Shiraishi put the conveyor belt into 250 stores, the big international appeal began with the Osaka World Expo when a sushi restaurant there used the serving style in its well known circular design.
And you just wanted to have a bite to eat! Such history and creative ideas are in restaurants and I feel it is good to know a bit about all of it. Well choose your seat in this lovely restaurant. I sat at the belt so I could pick my sushi as it came from the kitchen. The set up is common for these with the colors of the plates corresponding to the cost for each meal. Colors are labeled A,B,C,D,E which correspond to your selections. Since Plato has set this up as a donation only eatery, you may try a bit of everything.

Wear your chopsticks and check out the menu for your seating. You may “study menu”, “wait for food”, “eat” or sit back “full”. I love each pose, the full one is funny as you have a pile of rezzed empty dishes in front of you. When you are eating a soft drink rezzes with a straw. The detail of the meals are incredible. Plato is replacing and adding even more mesh as time and resources are available. As a restaurant operator she is great as she is constantly looking at her builds and improving a little this and a little that.
Take a break here and share a meal with a friend, friend(s) or that special someone. After the meal stroll the streets, have a drink at Bar Shoo located at:
