Saoirse reviews the upcoming Time Weavers Gallery:

Coming soon….Stopped by to see how things are shaping up at Time Weavers a new gallery by Artist Vivienne Flatley.

The layout of her gallery space is full of diffuse lighting with high ceilings and comfortable places to sit and contemplate the art.  A black on white stencil type picture greets us in the lobby area.  Look carefully at the trees!  I can already see she is putting extra energy into displays by using the slide show frames for a few pieces.  I was impressed by the artful placement of a working white baby grand piano.  The piano is both inviting as well as visually soothing in its placement.

A cornerstone of SL art is work made using the artist image, in this we may see how the artist captures best, him or herself using their favorite tools of the SL landscapes and studios.  Vivienne uses a lovely portrait of herself on her profile which you may see full size at the studio.  Deep purple and blue, stark, against white skin and eyes that are deep wells of blue.  There are a couple other self portraits, one that turns the play of light around and has her in a wintery setting.  One I really enjoy is a beach scene and in this picture we see the shadowy pits where people walked to the beach between the grasses.  The ocean is in the distance.  From the long shadow that falls across the path and the many marks in the sand, it feels as if it is late in the day when everyone is gone.  Peaceful.  Also peaceful is a picture with a woman dragging her hand into the sand with in a lazy, carefree manner.  I must zip my lip with any other details.

When she announces her show, I promise you will find I didn’t mention a couple of very special items.  Life is a camera…you will soon see why she thinks this is true.
