Saoirise reviews the Hanging Moon Gallery:
“At his best, man is the noblest of all animals; separated from law and justice he is the worst” Â Â Â Â Â Aristotle
Hanging the Moon is a fine art gallery in world that features the artistic stylings of Mary Sparrow. Â Our artist is”capturing the spirit of your favorite four legged friends around the world” in oils and acrylics on canvas. Â These pieces are done in real and brought in world to enjoy.

Our artist has worked almost exclusively with animals, one exception is a beautiful image titled ‘His Majesty’. Â When I looked at this image I thought ‘the world is my oyster’ as it is an image of an oyster with a pearl posed in the center. Â The beauty in this particular image has many facets. Â The art and the shaded needed to bring luster to a pearl on 2D canvas is a challenge that this artist handles well. Â The inside shell of the oyster has many colors blended as if to make the inner shell fit the pearl as a complimentary background. Â Even the edges of the oyster shell are multi-layered colors and fascinating. Â This oyster half shell rests lightly on a very dark background with the slight reflection in the foreground.
She has also put a few landscapes on display with rivers and waterfalls. Â Each one awash in the colors of the pieces, our artist works with color shadings for a very pleasing result.

On to the four legged friends in the gallery, the first I view is a bulldog with his tongue partially out as I suppose bulldogs do. Â The detailing on the dog’s tongue and the dog’s coat are incredible. Â The artist has even detailed shading to make the dog’s lower lip appear wet. Â This dog looks satisfied, perhaps he or she just had a meal. Â There are a few other dogs in the gallery, each one a crisp image you feel as if you could reach in and pet it.
Another four legged friend she has put up in a horse with one front leg extended.  It reminds me of a Arabian or maybe even a Lipizzan breed horse with a Regal air and fine posture.  This horse looks as if it is expressing pride in the facial image.  The artist captures this horse’s spirit handily.

I hope you take a moment and visit this little gallery, the artist has some very wonderful images to delight. Â I noticed our artist has used majesty in other portrait names. Â I enjoy seeing an artist use titling that has meaning to them. Â We don’t have to know everything about an image, only enjoy it. Â Artfully yours, Seersha Heart
