Flickr’s wants you to start paying for its Uploadr feature | Digital Trends

This week Yahoo-owned Flickr announced itโ€™s nowย charging for the service. Thatโ€™s right, to continue using Uploadr youโ€™ll need a Flickr Pro account, which costs $6 a month or $50 a year if you pay in one go, though a limited-time discount is currently offering 12 months for $35. To be clear, Flickrโ€™s Auto-Uploadr tool for smartphones remains free, at least for the time being.

While the move is set to disappoint users of Flickrโ€™s free tier whoโ€™ve been happily using Uploadr since it launched nearly 12 months ago, rival services will surely be looking forward to welcomingย a fewย disgruntled Flickr users heading their way to make use of cloud storage solutionsย that cost the princely sum of nothing….

  1. I couldn’t find where the discount offering is. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ And I’ll probably have to pay it because I can’t see myself downloading 4,000 pictures to move them. Uff!
